IMPORTANT: Take Note of Your BMI & Ideal Weight

How do you know if you are healthy? Let's look at two ways to determine how healthy your body is - BMI and Ideal Weight :)

BMI (Body Mass Index) is a measurement of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 years.

BMI can be used to indicate if you are overweight, obese, underweight or normal. BMI provides a reliable indicator of body fatness for most people and is used to screen for weight categories that may lead to health problems.

Calculate your BMI now :)

The most accurate assessment of your ideal weight takes into account the composition of your body - how much of your weight is lean body mass (muscle and bone) and how much is body fat. For optimum health, body fat should be no more than 20% of total body weight for men and 30% for women.

You can calculate your ideal weight here:

Keep in mind that BMI index test & ideal weight are only 2 ways to measure your health. Many other factors also play an important role in your health. As such, having a healthy BMI does not mean that your body is in perfect health.

Here at Chimara, we want to help you be healthy and reach your ideal weight & BMI. Here are a few of our tips & meal recommendations. :)

  • Add more fruits & vegetables to your diet

  • Eat plenty of carbs, but eat carbs that are slowly digested by the body like whole grain flour, hearty vegetables, oats, and unprocessed grains like brown rice.

  • Don't skip breakfast

The name Easter originates from Eastre, the Anglo-Saxon goddess who symbolizes hare and egg.

The traditional act of painting eggs is called Pysanka (origins from the Ukranian word pysaty, “to write”)

The tradition of giving eggs at Easter time has been traced back to Persians, Egyptians, Gauls, Greeks and Romans, to whom the egg was a symbol of life.

Go Green This Holy Week!

This Holy Week, let's not forget to show Mother Earth a little kindness.

Instead of malling, watching movies or TV, playing internet games, texting, and using electronic gadgets that consume lots of your personal time, why not have your own personal retreat?

Instead of using your air-conditioner, why not hang out at a park and enjoy some fresh air with your loved ones?

Instead of buying bottled water all the time, why not buy your own water tumbler and have it refilled?

Instead of having your grocery packed in plastic, why not bring your own recyclable bags?

Instead of eating fast-food meals and consuming junkfood, why not eat healthier?

Remember, every choice you make has the potential to create a healthier body, a safer environment, and a balanced ecosystem.

Let's go green this Holy Week! :)
